Heron Help You Unlock Secrets of Air Conditioning Compressors

Compressor is the power source of refrigerant vapor cycle of the air conditioner, it drives the refrigerant vapor reciprocating cycle in the pipeline system,through heat exchange to achieve the purpose of cooling or heating. The compressor is installed in the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, it is generally a black vertical cylinder in shape, is the largest component in the outdoor unit and is surrounded by the refrigerator pipeline. Today, Heron bring you together to unlock the air conditioning compressor and learn about its internal and external structure.

1. External structure of air conditioning compressor

Regardless of the type of air conditioner, the compressor has roughly the same structure from the outside, consists of the compressor main unit, wiring connector, inhaler, exhaust and liquid storage tank and other components.

Compressor main unit: The compressor main unit is the main part of the compressor, which is composed of the compressor motor and mechanical components. It is a key component to realize the refrigerant compression cycle;

Liquid storage tank: the compressor liquid storage tank is installed on the inhaler, which is used to separate the refrigerant vapor fed into the circulating refrigeration system pipeline so that only the refrigerant gas enters the compressor.

Inhaler and exhaust: they are connected to the pipeline system. The inhaler draws in low-pressure refrigerant gas, after being compressed by the compressor, the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas is discharged through the exhaust. The pipelines on both sides of the compressor form a high and low-pressure difference, which makes the refrigerant cycle.

Wiring connector: Located inside the terminal box, it is used to plug in the power supply cable to provide power supply voltage to the motor inside the compressor.

2. Internal structure of the compressor

Due to the different cooling or heating capabilities of air conditioners, the types of compressors used in different air conditioners are also different, that is, the internal structure of the compressor is different. Common compressor types include scroll compressors, double rotor compressors and rotary piston compressors.

2.1 Scroll Compressor

A scroll compressor is a compressible volume compressor composed of a fixed in-volute scroll and an eccentrically rotating in-volute scroll. The scroll compressor is made up of two dynamic and static scrolls meshing with each other in a bi-functional equation shape.

The unique design of the scroll compressor makes it an energy-saving compressor in today's world. Scroll compressor's main running parts scroll disk only engages without wear, so it has a longer life and is known as a maintenance-free compressor. Scroll compressor running smoothly, low vibration, quiet working environment, also known as 'Ultra-quiet compressor'. Scroll compressor structure is novel, precise, with small size, low noise, light weight, low vibration, low energy consumption, long life, continuous and smooth gas transmission, reliable operation, clean gas source and other advantages. Known as the 'new revolution compressor' and 'no maintenance compressor' is the ideal power source for wind-driven machinery, widely used in industry, agriculture, transportation, medical equipment, food and textile decoration and other industries and other occasions requiring compressed air.

2.2 Double Rotor Compressors

Double rotor compressor, refers to the compressor consists of two rotors. Low-frequency energy efficiency ratio is good, but the high-frequency energy efficiency ratio is not as good as that of the scroll. The noise, vibration and wear are slightly greater than that of the scroll. The life is shorter than that of the scroll, and it is difficult to increase the displacement.

2.3 Rotary piston compressor

A piston compressor is a kind of compressor that relies on the reciprocating motion of a piston to pressurize and transport gas. Applicable pressure range is wide, piston compressor can be designed into low pressure, medium pressure, high pressure and ultra-high pressure. Moreover, at the same speed, when the exhaust pressure fluctuates, the displacement of the piston compressor remains basically unchanged. Higher compression efficiency, piston compressor gas compression process is a closed system, its compression efficiency is higher. Strong adaptability, piston compressors have a wide range of displacement, and the impact of gas density on compressor performance is not as significant as that of speed compressors. The same specifications of the piston compressor are often used to compress other products with only slight modifications gas medium.
